With a huge power to weight ratio, the loads and stresses put on the wheels, the material needed to be used for the production of the wheels has to be of the highest quality. Also the heat treatment processes used in the hardening of the alloy has to be carefully controlled to ensure the end product is of the highest quality and still at an affordable price.
